Seven depressed firefighters respected at memorial

RALEIGH -- Seven some-more names were combined to the N.C. Fallen Firefighters Memorial in downtown Raleigh today.

The names of 4 firefighters who died in 2009 and 3 who died in the 1970s were denounced during a rite at the commemorative in Nash Square. The use enclosed an respect ensure and bagpipe processional and was preceded by a march in downtown Raleigh.

The firefighters commemorative was dedicated in 2006 and includes the names of firefighters who have died in the line of duty, dating behind to 1902. The commemorative includes space to supplement names at the annual open ceremony.

The 7 firefighters combined this year are James Melville Jones of the N.C. Forestry Service; Levi Henry Faulkner of the Farmville Fire Department; Willis Henry Vandiford of the Bell Arthur Volunteer Fire Department; Matthew Douglas Tramel of the Pembroke Fire Department; Gregory Carroll Cooke of the Salem District Volunteer Fire Department; William Gray Parsons of the Millers Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Jimmy Lee Davis Sr. of the White Oak Volunteer Fire Department.
